Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese body/mind
health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing
techniques and focused attention. The word Qigong is made up
of two Chinese words. Qi (pronounced chee) means invisible substance,
such as breath or vital energy. You can think of it as vitality.
Gong means accomplishment or mastery that is cultivated through
steady practice. Together, Qigong (Qi + gong) means the mastery
of vitality through steady practice. Qigong supports attainment
of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Today
millions around the world practice this ancient art for healing,
health maintenance and connecting to their spirit for inner peace
and spiritual development. The key to any spiritual practice, personal stress management technique, healing practice, to any esoteric study of life is the ability to train and focus your mind. When this happens you begin to unfold within yourself the ability to access inner teachers for guidance and wisdom to use in daily life. There are few training techniques as powerful or easy as Qigong (pronounced chee-gong). For 3,000 to 5,000 years the Chinese have worked with the unseen force called Qi or chi. They studied the chi and developed a fully integrated health care system using the meridian system called acupuncture. They have developed mind-breath-movement practices to train the mind for spiritual development, and found these practices to yield the side affects of physical, emotional, and mental healing. The Rainbow Sun Qigong form Ellie Drew teaches is a core foundational component to her teachings. After spending 10 years as a healer she found that people could maintain their energetic integrity by doing these easy practices, thus staying healthier in all aspects of life, and deepening their spiritual life. Rainbow Sun Qigong has been produced in three forms: Qigong for Kids, Qigong for Seniors and Rainbow Sun Qigong. |
